Step 1: Opening Claude Desktop Configuration¶

For Mac Users:¶

Step 2: Your First MCP Server - File System Access¶

Let's start with the safest and most useful MCP server: File System Access.

What This Does¶

Allows Claude to read and work with files on your computer - perfect for document analysis, file organization, and content creation tasks.

Configuration Steps:¶

1. Click "Add MCP Server" and select "File System"

2. Choose Your Access Level (Start Conservative):

   🟢 Safe Start: Documents folder only (read-only)
   🟡 Standard: Documents + Desktop (read/write)
   🔴 Advanced: Custom folder selection (read/write)

Step 3: Adding Gmail Integration¶
